Asana card #1 - the high plank

The plank pose or kumbakhasana is one of the simplest resistance workouts using one's own body weight. It utilizes the deep core, upper back, gluteal and inner thigh muscles to maintain the pose against gravity. Since the plank is an isometric exercise (where the length of the muscles do not change), it can be performed daily with a steady increase in the duration of holding the pose.

Benefits of planking daily:
